‘Summer House’ Star Dara Levitan Talks Dynamic With Ciara Miller Given Their History Of Dating West Wilson: “That Was Definitely My Concern”

In the short amount of time we’ve seen her on our screens, Dara Levitan has managed to become one of Summer House‘s most interesting newcomers. Coming from the world of beauty content creation, Levitan was brought onto the show by her ex-boyfriend, West Wilson, whom she dated for six months about three years ago (before he joined Summer House in Season 8). While her strong rapport with Wilson and the rest of the cast (including her new love interest, KJ Dillard) has made her transition from internet personality to Bravolebrity appear effortless, Levitan did admit that she had some “concerns” about sharing a house with Ciara Miller, given the fact that they both dated Wilson in the past.

“[Out of] any worries I had, that was definitely my concern,” Levitan told DECIDER when we asked about her dynamic with Miller. “It wasn’t even like, ‘How am I going to be around him?’ It was more as a girl’s girl, any bad connotations aside, I just wanted to make sure that my relationship with the girls could come in and not be tainted by that.”

Given her history with Wilson, Levitan shared that she did have some “reservations” about joining Summer House, partly because she didn’t want the audience to think there was overlap between her relationship with Wilson and Miller’s relationship with Wilson, which came to an end after they wrapped filming on Season 8 in 2023.

“I know West and I’s history and as innocent and innocuous and very much in the past as it is, sometimes timelines are misunderstood and things are exacerbated,” she said. “But I just figured, we know that all sides of the street are clean. So any of those qualms, any of those worries, I just figured all I have to do is be honest, keep calm, and they’ll be able to see what my intentions are, which had nothing to do with pining for him.”

Despite her initial worries, Levitan ended up forming a close bond with Miller.

“She was lovely,” Levitan said. “I think that she’s such a pro and she knows how things work and that there’s so many complicated relationships that do come in and are looking to have a good time. I think as soon as she picked up what I was putting down a little bit, she was like, ‘What is there to be tense or weird about?’ And she ended up, by the end of the summer, being one of the women that I enjoyed confiding in the most.”

As for what she thinks about fans encouraging Miller and Wilson to reconcile their romance, Levitan told us, “I think it’s hard, because they are in the midst of a complicated dynamic where they’re trying to figure out their feelings, trying not to be disrespectful to one another and step on toes. Candidly, I’m not sure how it feels for them to see all of that support and that excitement.” Though, as someone who does spend a lot of time around them, Levitan said she “can’t really blame anyone” for wanting them to get back together.

“Me being around them and seeing them on nights out having that dynamic and having that connection and the chemistry, it’s only natural that you’re side-eyeing and wondering,” she added. “So, it’s only fair.”

Summer House airs on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
