The Buffalo Bills are coming off one of their most-hyped games of the season, against the New England Patriots, in which the Bills staged a massive comeback to win and move closer to clinching a playoff spot.
The energy around their next game is much different. Buffalo travels to Cleveland to take on the lowly Browns. Sure, Shedeur Sanders comes with some attention, but this, on paper, is a massive mismatch.
And that's what brings to mind an unusual plan for Josh Allen.
The superstar quarterback is, obviously, the most important part of what the Bills do. Without Allen, the Bills' Super Bowl dreams sink to almost zero.

And there is one player on the Browns who should scare the Bills: Myles Garrett.
Garrett enters Week 16 with 21.5 sacks. The NFL single-season record is 22.5. Garrett seems likely to break that easily -- it's just a matter of when.
If there's one thing the Bills don't want, it's having Garrett crush Allen all game long.
Sure, Buffalo will throw extra attention at Garrett, but that's been happening all season, and he's still been winning.
So here's the plan, if the Bills can carry it out: Get up by 21 points and let Allen sit.

It's highly unconventional, yes. But this isn't about scoring more points in the third and fourth quarter against the Browns. The odds of Sanders leading Cleveland's offense to a 21-point comeback at any point against the Bills are pretty much zero.
The most important thing the Bills can do is keep Allen healthy. And so once his job is done, and the lead is comfortable, it should be Mitchell Trubisky time.
Teams don't do this, but this is the exact week to do it. Allen doesn't need to take extra hits from Garrett.
He needs to stay healthy for the two months of football ahead.
