A stripper has been missing for more than a month after she was last seen walking into a Florida Publix – with her anguished mom saying the “unexplainable” disappearance is “killing” her.
Chelsea Bonnell, 30, was last seen at the Jupiter store on May 26 – two days after flying from Michigan to Miami alone on a one-way ticket on the hunt for a new club to work at, local reports said.
Bonnell suddenly shut down her social media, her mom Michelle Clauw said in heart-tugging online appeals — and has had no contact with her family for more than a month.
But her credit card was used at a Dunkin store, heightening the mystery and leaving her mom agonizing over her whereabouts.
“It’s unexplainable,” Michelle told WPLG. “It hurts, and it’s killing me because this is not her. She would call one of us.”
“Something doesn’t feel right, especially as a mother. We’re worried. It’s been hell.”
Bonnell, from Michigan’s Clinton Township, previously worked as an exotic dancer at Legends nightclub in Detroit – and went to Florida to find extra work, her family told WWJ.
But the radio silence has sparked fears something sinister may have happened.
“It’s not like her, and we do fear that she may be with somebody that’s not allowing contact to us because this is just not her,” Clauw said.
Bonnell went into the Publix store on May 26 and she was “alone, buying food that was very, very minimal,” the mom said.
“She then did leave Publix in Jupiter and headed out to the parking lot.”
Clauw doesn’t know where her daughter headed and she tried to message on June 1 but her phone was off.
Bonnell’s card was used at a Dunkin store in West Palm Beach — around 22 miles from Jupiter — the next day, but it’s not known who made the transaction.
Clauw jetted out to Florida last week trying to retrace her daughter’s steps, but her efforts have been unsuccessful.
“I’m finding it hard to put into words how sick I’m feeling,” she wrote Thursday.
“Coming down to West Palm Beach, everything in my heart told me we would lead to a connection, somehow, someway to Chelsea.
“This isn’t how my trip should be ending, it should be a joyful homecoming.
“The emptiness in my heart is gut-wrenching, no leads, nothing that gives me hope she’s here for a fresh start. My concerns for her safety are stronger than ever.
“Nobody can convince me that after 30 days, she wouldn’t be in contact with anyone in our family, no way. NO WAY!”
