The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is returning to Bravo tonight for Season 6, and we couldn’t be more excited. This is a franchise that has delivered everything from FBI raids to cast members who secretly ran burner accounts on Instagram meant solely to troll their co-stars. Therefore, the stakes are high when it comes to delivering dramatic, quality content on a show where every season you’re left asking yourself, “Can it really get better than this?” Time and time again, the ladies have proven that things can only go up. But is the same true for Season 6? We watched the first episode and here’s what we think:
THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF SALT LAKE CITY SEASON 6: STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?
Opening Shot: You know things are going to be good when Angie Katsanevas rolls up to Mary Cosby‘s front door, driving an RV.
The Gist: Where do we even begin? Friendships were fractured by the end of RHOSLC Season 5, and while Season 6 gives leeway for reconciliation by bringing back the same cast, it seems like it’s going to be a little while before everyone is singing “Kumbaya” around a campfire.
To play some catch-up, Lisa Barlow starts the season on bad terms with Whitney Rose, Bronwyn Newport, and Angie, while Britani Bateman is still feuding with Meredith Marks and Mary. With Angie and Mary hosting the first girls’ trip of the season—a camping trip that Lisa is noticeably missing from—will some of the women be able to work out their differences? We might need Episode 2 to come before we get that answer.
What Shows Will This Remind You Of? Think a more cinematic version of any other Real Housewives show and that’s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Our Take: From Jen Shah’s on-camera FBI raid in Season 2 to the infamous, “Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots!” line from Heather in Season 4, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City never fails to turn a run-of-the-mill reality show into cinematic television. Season 6 is no different, with the ladies getting in on the mess from the moment they set foot in Angie’s RV.
I, like many others, was disappointed to see that Lisa was missing from the first episode. However, the questions surrounding her absence are sure to set up a lot of drama going forward. While Lisa called out of the trip for a prior work engagement, some of the other ladies didn’t necessarily buy her excuse. Was she actually busy dealing with her legal woes? Was she avoiding Bronwyn after their dramatic confrontation at the reunion? The speculations were endless, and since Lisa is never one to back down from a fight—especially when it comes to proving her innocence—it’s only a matter of time before Baby Gorgeous comes in swinging.
There’s also something to say about the dynamics in RHOSLC. They can go from calling each other names and making outlandish accusations about each other one moment to eating hotdogs around a campfire the next. The show does an impressive job at striking that fine balance between nail-biting drama and laugh-out-loud moments. When we finish a season (or even just an episode), we don’t feel like hollow corpses drained of all emotion walking away from the TV. Instead, we laugh, we cry, we makes memes, and we look forward to the next time we can watch it all again. The fact that they’ve kept the same cast, with no new additions or subtractions, goes to show that these women (and Bravo) have perfected the Real Housewives formula.
Sex and Skin: Nope. No sex and skin here!

Parting Shot: The episode ends on a dramatic note as the ladies set out with cam-corders in the dark of night to explore the land that, according to the local legend, was once patrolled by a fundamentalist Mormon who would kidnap and sacrifice girls who went there to sin. Not only are the ladies finally back on our screens, but they are also helping to ring in spooky season! Need I explain further why this is the best Real Housewives franchise? I think not.
Sleeper Star: Lisa might not have been in the premiere episode, but her name was still in everyone’s mouths! Even without her physical presence, she knows how to make a splash, proving once again that she’s the one to watch this season.
Most Pilot-y Line: Since the ladies went on a less-than-glamorous camping trip to open Season 6, we’re going to have to shout out Angie, who organized the excursion and somehow forgot to bring hotdog buns and condiments to go with their dinner. “We’re supposed to be coming one with nature and be minimalists,” she said in her confessional. “The truth is I actually forgot everything. But that’s the story I’m selling to the ladies.”
Our Call: STREAM IT. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City just gets better and better with every new season.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
