Bravo is truly capitalizing on the popularity of dating shows. Earlier this year, the network released Bravo’s Love Hotel, which followed four Real Housewives stars as they searched for love in paradise. Now, Kings Court—a spinoff of the popular Peacock dating series Queens Court—has landed on the channel, starring famed supermodel Tyson Beckford, NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, and WWE icon Thaddeus “Titus O’Neil” Bullard as they embark on a journey to find their queens. But will this series live up to the hype of other famous dating shows like The Bachelor or Love Island USA? Check out our review of the first episode below.
KINGS COURT: STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?
Opening Shot: In the first few moments of the show, hosts (and Hollywood power couple) Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete introduce the kings to the first batch of women by having them strut down a fashion runway. Is there really any other way to properly make an introduction? We think not!
The Gist: Throughout the series, the kings—Bullard, Beckford, and Boozer—go on adventurous dates with 21 gorgeous and successful single women. But only three of the ladies will emerge from the experience as queens. At each elimination dinner, the men must choose which singles deserve another chance at love, and which ones will be sent home.
Our Take: Kings Court might not garner as much attention as other dating shows like Love Island USA or The Bachelor, but it’s certainly not one to be skipped over. With our increasing appetite for watching single celebrities on the prowl, Kings Court puts three legends in their own right front and center in the dating scene, and invites viewers in to watch it all unfold. While the men are, for the most part, pretty laid back, the women have no problem bringing drama to the table. Whether they are lying to the kings about their past, or bringing out the claws to take down their fellow competition, some of the ladies tend to give more court jester energy than queen energy, making for the same entertaining chaos we can’t help but love in these types of shows.
Sex and Skin: There’s no sex and skin … so far!

Sleeper Star: Janaye’s pink dress might’ve caught Boozer’s eye when he walked down the runway, but it’s her down-to-earth personality that’s sure to make her a breakout star on this season of Kings Court. Unlike some of the women, it’s clear that Janaye is there for all the right reasons, and with any luck, she will get to leave the show as Boozer’s queen.
Most Pilot-y Line: “It’s sad what we’re getting ready to do but I’m ready to do it,” Beckford says moments before eliminating two women from the show. Dating series are cutthroat, but someone’s got to make the difficult decisions!
Our Call: STREAM IT. Bravo’s Love Hotel walked so Kings Court could run.
Next Gen NYC premieres Tuesday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
