With nearly 14,000 11-man high school football teams competing across the country, there are always several dozen teams on lengthy double-digit win streaks.
And on any given weekend, several of those large streaks usually end. This weekend was no different as at least 16 teams on double-digit win streaks saw those long runs terminated.
The longest streak to end was Dutch Fork [Irmo, SC]'s 24-game tally that started on October 12, 2023. The Silver Foxes had not lost since coming up on the short end of a 17-14 result the previous week on October 6 against the White Knoll [Lexington, SC] Timberwolves.

Dutch Fork's 24-game streak spanned two Class 5A state titles in South Carolina
Dutch Fork was just 2-5 in 2023 after an 0-3 start when they improbably went on an 8-game run to South Carolina's SCHSL Class 5A state championship. They were just 5-5 entering the playoffs in the Palmetto State's top division, but got the streak started with a 41-8 win over the Chapin [SC] Eagles.
They had two close calls in the playoffs, slipping past the T.L. Hanna [Anderson, SC] Yellow Jackets, 31-28, on November 10 and holding off the J.L. Mann [Greenville, SC] Patriots, 31-30, in the state semifinals. They avenged their regular-season loss to White Knoll in the state championship game, winning 21-6 on December 1.
Last season, the Silver Foxes added another Class 5A title – their second in their undefeated run, but their third consecutive state championship counting their 2022 title. This time, they defeated the Summerville [SC] Green Wave, 35-21, in the championship game. They followed that up by winning their first three games this year before finally seeing the streak end Friday night in a 24-20 loss to the Oceanside Collegiate Academy [Mt. Pleasant, SC] Landsharks.
