The Philadelphia 76ers are excited about the next couple of seasons after building quite the squad for the future. The 76ers are viewed as a favorite to compete for the Eastern Conference championship.

Philadelphia has one of the best starting fives in the entire NBA, and that will be something to watch this season. They also have LeBron James, who completes an already impressive starting lineup.

“LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers for his final run at another NBA championship, he announced Friday," ESPN's Dave McMenamin wrote. "James, 41, is signing a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option, Klutch Sports Group CEO Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania."

Everyone knows what the 76ers are capable of, especially with James expected to lead the offense. They faced the New York Knicks in their first preseason contest. After the game, Knicks head coach Mike Brown admitted that the way Philadelphia assembled its team makes it harder for everyone else.

“In my opinion, it definitely just got harder for everybody with the team that they assembled,” Brown said.

The 76ers still have some things to figure out, including building team chemistry and addressing other factors. Even ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes James will win his fifth championship with Philadelphia. However, Smith also found it the right time to point out that James will never have as many championships as Michael Jordan.

“The 76ers are gonna win LeBron James his fifth NBA championship. That's the good news. Here's the bad: It still ain't six, baby. This man is the second greatest player of all time. He is not the GOAT,” Smith said.

Smith will continue to remind James that he does not believe he will surpass Jordan, and that is a fair opinion to have. If James wins his fifth championship, it would mark the fourth team he has won a title with.

The 76ers have an excellent opportunity, and everyone has taken notice. There is no doubt that a championship is possible, but even Smith isn't going to let James enjoy the moment without bringing up the GOAT debate.
