Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White had no interest in allowing a courtside confrontation to overshadow her team’s best offensive performance of the season.
The Fever rolled to a 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, scoring a season-high 113 points behind spectacular performances from Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.
Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom still became part of the postgame conversation after he was escorted out of Wintrust Arena following a heated exchange with Sky guard Natasha Cloud.
When reporters asked White about the incident, the Indiana coach delivered a direct request.
“I think it’s important that people like you guys in this room don’t give it any gas, right?” White said. “It’s a social media thing.”
White refuses to feed the distraction
Video of the exchange circulated quickly online. Cloud appeared to direct comments toward Kanter Freedom from the court before arena personnel escorted the former Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder player from his seat. What was said between the two was not publicly confirmed.

That approach also redirected attention toward what happened on the court. Indiana snapped a two-game losing streak and concluded its five-game road trip with an emphatic victory. The Fever improved to 25-14 and remained in the race for a top-four playoff seed.
Clark finished with 37 points and 10 assists while making a career-high eight 3-pointers. Mitchell added 30 points and six triples, giving Indiana one of the most explosive backcourt performances of the WNBA season.
The Fever shot 52.6 percent from the field and made 18 of their 31 attempts from beyond the arc, according to the official game recap.

Fever have more important business ahead
White’s message was less about defending anyone involved and more about refusing to surrender the spotlight. Indiana has already secured a playoff berth, but its remaining games still matter. The Fever are attempting to improve their seed and potentially earn home-court advantage in the opening round.
Clark, Mitchell and Indiana’s supporting cast also needed a convincing response after consecutive losses. They provided one in Chicago, even with Aliyah Boston sidelined by a right lower-leg injury. The Fever have one more game before the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup break. They will return home to face the Connecticut Sun on Friday.
That is the storyline White would much rather discuss. The courtside scene generated clicks and social media arguments. Indiana’s 23-point victory, however, carried real consequences for a team preparing to pursue a championship.
White made her position clear. She wasn’t going to pour fuel on a distraction when her team had just delivered a statement.
