Steelers strength of schedule: Pittsburgh has rough road ahead in 2025

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to return to the playoffs for the third straight year in 2025. Pittsburgh has been a consistent playoff team for most of the Mike Tomlin era, but the team hasn't won a game in the postseason since 2016.

The Steelers are always competitive no matter the situation, but they have a rough road to navigate in 2025. According to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis, Pittsburgh has the ninth toughest schedule in the NFL. Sharp uses projected win totals for the upcoming season from Vegas oddsmakers to calculate strength of schedule.

The only AFC teams with harder schedules than the Steelers are the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans.

The Steelers have consistently had one of the league's toughest schedules, as they play in a competitive AFC North division and usually draw the most formidable teams in the conference on a yearly basis.

That hasn't changed in 2025. Here's a look at Pittsburgh's opponents this year.

Home: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks.

Away: Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets.

The NFL will release the full 2025 schedule at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday. However, the biggest storyline regarding the Steelers is still the Aaron Rodgers pursuit. The 41-year-old has yet to make a decision on his future, and the longer he makes Pittsburgh wait, the more uncertain the quarterback position will be for Tomlin's squad this year.
