Steelers predicted to trade for 975-yard receiver to help Aaron Rodgers

The Pittsburgh Steelers need a better No. 2 wide receiver.

Are any of Robert Woods, Calvin Austin or Roman Wilson going to cut it? DK Metcalf was a great pickup, but the trade of George Pickens made things tricky again.

There's a possible solution.

Bleacher Report's Matt Holder writes that the Steelers should trade for 49ers wideout Jauan Jennings, who isn't happy in San Francisco.

"Speaking of quarterbacks in their 40s, the Steelers should consider adding another receiver for Aaron Rodgers," Holder writes. "Robert Woods is projected to be their No. 2 out wide, and Jennings is basically a younger and (at this stage in their careers) better version of Woods. It was reported recently that the current 49er is looking for a new contract or trade out of San Francisco as he's coming off his best NFL season with 77 catches, 975 yards and six touchdowns, all of which were career highs."

Austin in particular was unexpectedly solid in 2024. He can play some type of role this season.

But for the Steelers to maximize the win-now path of Rodgers, they need more.

Jennings, an on-the-rise talent, would definitely count as getting more.
