The Pittsburgh Steelers are predicted to move on from a Super Bowl champion and a recent draft pick at final roster cuts.
Still Curtain's Andrew Falce has Pittsburgh cutting wide receiver Scotty Miller and cornerback Cory Trice Jr. before the 2025 NFL season.
"Simply put, there isn’t a sixth receiver worth keeping on the roster right now. That could change down the road, but no one can justify being held onto right now," Falce wrote on the Steelers' wide receiver room.
"I have Cory Trice Jr. missing the roster. While fans love him, his play has been up and down, and his injury history is bad. He isn’t a lock right now, and other cornerbacks have garnered more buzz than Trice," Falce wrote on Trice.
Miller played 13 games last year for the Steelers, hauling in just five receptions for 69 yards. The 28-year-old could be kept on the roster for depth, as Pittsburgh's receiver room isn't very deep.
However, Miller, a Super Bowl LV champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, doesn't bring much to the table at this point and is in danger of getting cut. He played just ten special teams snaps in 2024 and didn't have much of a role on the offense.
Injuries have held back Trice, who does have some promise as a boundary corner. The Purdue product missed his entire rookie campaign in 2023 due to a torn ACL and played just six games in 2024 due to a hamstring injury.
Trice had a decent shot to make the roster heading into camp, but the 25-year-old suffered another hamstring injury during practice on Friday.
With his injury history through three seasons, it's hard to see Pittsburgh keeping Trice on the roster. The former seventh-round pick has potential, but availability is your best ability, and Trice just hasn't been available.
