The Pittsburgh Steelers have a sturdy RB depth chart, but in the NFL, there's often a use that arises for yet another running back.
In the new seven-round mock draft unveiled by ESPN's Matt Miller on Monday, he takes that approach for Pittsburgh in the fifth round.
At pick 161, Miller has the Steelers select RB Kaytron Allen out of Penn State.
It'd be cool for Pittsburgh to end up with a back from the Nittany Lions, and Allen certainly has potential.
He'd join a crowded depth chart that also includes Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle and Kaleb Johnson, so there would be work to do to make the team.
Allen definitely has the ability after pairing with Nicholas Singleton in a high-powered collegiate backfield.

Allen played four seasons at Penn State and was a top-notch back in all four of them.
He ran for 867 yards as a freshman, 902 as a sophomore, 1,108 as a junior and 1,303 as a senior.
His full senior season line, even as Penn State's campaign crumbled, was 210 runs for 1,303 yards (career-best 6.2 yards per carry) and 15 touchdowns.
Allen also averaged 17.5 catches per season and 7.0 yards per reception.
He's the type of immensely proven college RB that may not have the top-tier combine testing traits but clearly knows how to get the job done on the ground. There's still room for a player like that in the NFL.
Is there really room on Pittsburgh's depth chart? We might find out soon enough.
