The Minnesota Vikings have cut ties with a two-time Pro Bowler and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders could all have interest.
On Wednesday, the Vikings announced they have released defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, a move that was expected after Allen struggled in 2025.
At 31, Allen's best days are probably behind him, but he should still draw some interest from teams as a potential depth piece on the interior.
Allen has never been a good run defender, but he is still an asset as an interior pass-rusher who offers some inside/outside versatility.
As we mentioned, it's logical to believe the Steelers, Broncos and Raiders could kick the tires on the veteran defensive lineman.
Looking ahead to this coming season, the Steelers have a solid trio on the inside in Cam Heyward, Derrick Harmon and Yahya Black, but Pittsburgh needs depth.
After all, Heyward is going to be 37 years old, Harmon is coming off a rookie campaign in which he dealt with injury, and Black remains unproven.
In Denver, the Broncos had one of the most high-profile pending free agents in 2026 in John Franklin-Myers, but the key defender has now moved on and signed with the Tennessee Titans, which leaves a gaping hole upfront for Denver.
As for the Raiders, their defensive line could definitely use more juice in a group that includes uninspiring options like Adam Butler, Jonah Laulu, Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues.
With Allen on the back nine of his career, he's probably going to be looking for a team that gives him a chance to win a Super Bowl. The Broncos best fit that bill.
