Stavley, Ghodoussi company makes offer for West Ham stake

Amanda Staveley and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi's PCP Capital Partners have made an offer to buy a 25.1 per cent stake in West Ham.

Sky News' Mark Kleinman broke the news on Thursday that the couple were preparing a bid for a share that belongs to the family of the late David Gold. That offer has now gone in.

Sky News also reported that the club's current investors have first refusal on whether they would like to match the offer.

Sources close to the situation insisted to Sky News that Daniel Kretinsky, who raised his share in the club earlier this year, remains interested in a deal.

However, West Ham's ownership structure means he does not want to acquire all of the Gold-owned stake, which would make him the club's majority owner.

If there is an agreement with both parties, the Gold family will make a statement - not PCP - out of respect to all other shareholders.

Sky Sports News understands there will be no public comment from PCP for the same reason while negotiations are ongoing.

Staveley and PCP have held discussions with a number of Premier League clubs since leaving Newcastle, including Tottenham, but are now focused on the Hammers.

What has happened at West Ham so far this summer?

It has been a busy summer for West Ham after their relegation from the Premier League. There were questions over whether Nuno Espirito Santo would continue as head coach - and it was soon confirmed that he would.

Joint-chairman David Sullivan also stepped down after "serious historic allegations" emerged regarding his conduct, which he denies.

In terms of transfers, Matheus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville have been the biggest outgoings. But perhaps their best bit of business will be keeping captain Jarrod Bowen.

It was also reported on Friday that West Ham are in talks with Celtic for midfielder Arne Engels.
