Tough Starbucks
Starbucks just announced it’s dropping a woke policy and will only let paying customers use its restrooms (“S’bux throwing the bums out,” Jan. 14).
In 2018, Starbucks outlets nationwide were directed to no longer require people to be paying customers to use bathrooms or Wifi. Come and stay as long as you want for free, was the idea. What could possibly go wrong? Well, that policy likely cost Starbucks millions of dollars in lost revenue. And during those years, dozens of Starbucks locations have closed.

Free Menendez
Sen. Bob Menendez was wrongly prosecuted and was rendered guilty by a biased and ill-informed jury (“Hard Time for ‘Gold Bars’ Bob, Please,” Editorial, Jan. 14).
By comparison, the Biden family has received a free pass for receiving tens of millions of dollars from influence-peddling schemes, the evidence of which was outlined in a recent book authored by Rep. James Comer entitled “All the President’s Money.” Not to mention President Biden’s decision to issue a blanket pardon to his son, Hunter.
The Menendez verdict should be overturned on appeal, and while the case is on appeal, he should not have to serve one single day behind bars.
Menendez has an impressive record of accomplishments and served his constituents honorably for years. He has being treated unfairly.
Hopefully Menendez and his wife will be pardoned by Donald Trump when he is president.

Eric’s blame game
Mayor Adams, don’t blame the federal government for New York’s problems in supporting illegal immigrants (“Eric ‘sorry’ on tent city,” Jan. 12).
No, Mr. Mayor. All the blame rests on you, the City Council, the governor and those elected officials who made New York a sanctuary city. Stop prioritizing illegal immigrants’ rights and privileges over our own citizens’.

No Giuliani for you
As someone who lived in New York City before and during the terms of Rudy Giuliani, I appreciated the editorial stating that Los Angeles needs its own Rudy during this current tragedy (“LA Needs a Giuliani,” Editorial, Jan. 14).
Many of us remember the practical miracle Rudy performed in transforming NYC from the “Bronx is burning” days to the safest big city in America, not to mention his incredible leadership through the dark days following 9/11.
But look at how the left views Giuliani now. They have made him a pariah. LA is as blue as NYC, and any “Giuliani” guiding them through the current crisis would be treated the same, as soon as that person was “exposed” as leaning right. LA does not deserve a Giuliani.

Sinking ship
Shame on the Post Editorial Board for castigating Judge Juan Merchan (“Judge Ahab,” Editorial, Jan. 9).
First of all, as a practicing attorney of 47 years, I find it offensive to read such an attack on a judge.
Second, President-elect Donald Trump, through his attorneys, raised one feckless argument after another in delaying what could have been a sentencing in July of last year. So much for your specious allegation that the judge has been “dragging things out,” when it was the Trump team which was guilty of being dilatory.
