The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought 10 players at the IPL 2026 auction held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16.
Entering the auction with INR 25.5 crore, SRH got themselves going by buying uncapped Shivang Kumar for his base price. Notably, the 2016 champions raised pedal on several occasions in the first few rounds, but it didn't fall under their budget.
The SunRisers then came back strongly and acquired another uncapped player, Salil Arora, after a bidding war with the Mumbai Indians (MI), before buying Onkar Tarmale, Amit Kumar, Sakib Hussain, Praful Hinge, and Krains Fuletra.
SRH's most high-profile purchase came as they spent a whopping INR 13 crore for Liam Livingstone in the second accelerated round. They beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a fierce bidding war to acquire the England all-rounder. They also bought experienced seamer Shivam Mavi for a base price.
Later, the Kaviya Maran co-owned franchise bought noted Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards after a bidding war involving Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT).
