Spurs shake up roster with late-Monday afternoon two-way deal

The San Antonio Spurs have signed forward Emanuel Miller to a two-way contract and waived wing Stanley Umude, the team announced Monday. Miller returns to Texas after closing out his college career just a few years ago at TCU.

At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, Miller joins the Spurs, most recently signed on a two-way contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he appeared in six games for their G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, and averaged 19.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 33.2 minutes.

Miller is no stranger to the Lone Star State, having split his career in college at both Texas A&M and TCU. Over 147 games, he made 137 starts, averaging 11.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 29.1 minutes per game. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior with the Horned Frogs.

Before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miller spent two seasons on a two-way contract with the Chicago Bulls. During his time there, he appeared in 11 games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds.
