Sportskeeda's Choice: 2025 Most Underrated WWE Wrestler of the Year

As we approach the holiday season to wrap up 2025, it is time to look back on the year that has gone by in WWE. With many significant highs and lows, some wrestlers have put in a lot of effort throughout the year, but have yet to receive the recognition for it.

There are several stars who could deserve a spot as the most underrated WWE Superstars of the year, with Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, The Miz, Jimmy Uso, Lyra Valkyria, Bayley, and Michin frequently going under the radar. However, there is one star who elevated his career much beyond all the rest, but remains one of the most underrated performers in the company.

Since June, Ludwig Kaiser has been portraying El Grande Americano, following Chad Gable's injury. The German star has done an incredible job filling in for the Olympian and has taken the character to a whole new level. Kaiser is Sportskeeda's choice for the most underrated WWE Superstar of 2025.

Kaiser has been incredibly committed to his character since putting on the mask. He not only speaks in a Mexican-Spanish dialect, but has also changed his moveset up to match that of a luchador.

The German star has been featured on programming regularly since becoming Americano, and has occasionally helped Dominik Mysterio in his matches. But that's not all. He has also made numerous appearances for the company's sister promotion, AAA, and has had several impressive matches there as well.

Since the quiet end of Imperium, Ludwig Kaiser had been without a prominent direction on WWE RAW. But the injury to Chad Gable presented him with an opportunity, and he took it with both hands.

El Grande Americano has been one of the most enjoyable gimmicks of the year. While a significant amount of credit goes to Gable for introducing the character, Kaiser deserves an equal share for continuing the mystery and improving upon what he had been handed in the middle of the year.
