“Southern Charm” alum Kathryn Dennis is being sued over the May 2024 car accident that has landed her behind bars.

Plaintiff Larry Patrick Griffin — who was behind the wheel of a 2012 Honda sedan when the crash occurred last year — alleged in his lawsuit that the Bravo alum’s decisions have caused him “bodily injury, pain and suffering, and mental anguish,” as well as damage to his property.

He claims in the court docs filed in South Carolina in August and obtained by Page Six Tuesday that Dennis was “driving while under the influence and sway of alcohol and/or other controlled substance(s)” when she hit a 2017 Nissan that then, in turn, ended up hitting his car “in the rear.”

“She made the conscious decision to drive a motor vehicle on a public roadway while under the influence and intoxication of alcoholic beverages, and/or other controlled substances,” he alleged in the complaint.

Griffin did not state the exact monetary amount for which he is suing, but asked the court for the “just and proper” relief for “property damage, punitive damages,” and “the costs of this action.”

Dennis’ insurance company, State Farm, is named as a co-defendant in the suit, but the carrier said in an answer to the complaint that it “denies the allegations,” partly “for lack of information at this time.”

The reality star has not yet responded to the suit herself, and she could not immediately be reached.

Dennis, 34, is currently serving a 30-day sentence at Berkeley County jail following a ruling a judge made last Friday in connection to this case. She was convicted of driving under the influence.

The former Bravolebrity was initially arrested right when the three-vehicle collision happened, as cops reportedly found her at the time with “glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person.”

The report also noted that she was driving with an open container, which was allegedly several mini bottles of Fireball, a cinnamon-flavored whiskey.

According to a local ABC News outlet, Dennis denied consuming any alcohol but later admitted at the detention center to drinking “way earlier.”

Police footage from the arrest that was released shortly after the arrest also showed the former TV personality arguing with law enforcement as they tried to conduct field sobriety tests.

“Wait, why? Am I in trouble?” she could be heard asking at the time.

Dennis — who shares daughter Kensington, 11, and son Saint Julien, 9, with ex Thomas Ravenel, with whom she has had a tumultuous custody battle — added, “Ya’ll are ruining my life — and my kids’ [lives].”

The mom of two has had a history of substance abuse issues. In 2019, following a stint in rehab, she admitted on Season 6 of “Southern Charm” that she was not fully sober and still drank alcohol.

Dennis appeared on the popular Bravo series from 2014 to 2022.
