Sophie Cunningham helped the Indiana Fever secure another important victory Friday night before making an unexpected appearance away from the court. A fan-recorded video circulating on social media showed Cunningham standing on a bar and singing Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” alongside country singer Clayton Anderson.
The moment reportedly occurred at Clayton’s Country Bar in Indianapolis after the Fever defeated the Dallas Wings 98-87 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Cunningham wore a black top and khaki pants while joining Anderson for the closing portion of the song. Several patrons recorded the performance as the Fever veteran sang and interacted with the crowd.
“From the court to Clayton’s,” the fan who posted the video wrote. “Well rounded evening of Sophie.”
Cunningham celebrated another Fever victory
The appearance followed a productive night for Indiana. Caitlin Clark recorded 29 points and 10 assists, while Kelsey Mitchell scored 23 points. Aliyah Boston added 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Fever overcame a halftime deficit and pulled away from Dallas in the second half. Tyasha Harris delivered one of the night’s biggest surprises, scoring 15 points while making all five of her 3-point attempts.
Cunningham contributed to Indiana’s effort as the Fever earned their third consecutive victory and improved to 22-12. The result also gave the team eight wins over its last 10 games as the postseason race enters its final stretch. The Fever are scheduled to return to the court Sunday against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream.

Another memorable moment away from the court
Cunningham has developed one of the WNBA’s largest individual followings during her time with Indiana. The 29-year-old guard has become known for an energetic playing style and an outgoing personality. Her barroom performance offered fans another example of that personality outside a competitive basketball setting.
Cunningham joined the Fever in 2025 after beginning her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury. She played collegiately at Missouri, where she became one of the most accomplished players in program history. Her profile has continued to grow since arriving in Indiana. Cunningham also appeared in the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue after being photographed on Captiva Island in Florida.
The latest viral video did not involve a basketball play, postgame interview or fashion statement. It simply captured Cunningham enjoying a night out after another Indiana win. There was no formal performance announcement and no indication the appearance was planned as a public event. Based on the video, Cunningham joined Anderson during the song as customers watched and recorded the moment.
The spontaneous performance gave Fever fans something else to discuss during an increasingly successful stretch for the team.
Indiana will now turn its attention back to basketball and a potentially important matchup with Atlanta.
