WNBA star Sophie Cunningham took to social media to show off her transformation from Indiana Fever Enforcer to super-glam SI Swim bikini model.
While one sizzling preview pic was published by the brand, Cunningham’s first photoshoot with the iconic brand will be released in its entirety in the 2026 print issue, scheduled for May.
“Sports Illustrated Swimsuit,” was the athlete’s brief caption for her Friday, April 10 TikTok share. In the video, she starts off in a grey hoodie, holding a basketball. Then the footage flashes to Cunningham in nothing but a skimpy swimsuit.
“Slay Queen!!!” raved a fan in the comments.
“Baddest in the Wnba🔥🔥🔥,” agreed another.
“Do you even play basketball 😂😂😂,” quipped a third, echoing what Cunningham’s friend and teammate Caitlin Clark often writes in jest.
“Sophie!!!” added a fourth. “Your awesome!! When I grow up I want to be just like you❤️✌.”
“Why are you not a model???” asked a fifth.

Cunningham, 29, was photographed in Florida by Katherine Goguen.
“Ahead of the 2026 WNBA season, which tips off later this month with preseason play, Cunningham just made yet another huge career announcement: She will join USA Sports as an athlete contributor on the USA Network throughout the WNBA season,” writes Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. “On the same day she announced her broadcasting career news, Cunningham’s first official photo from her time on the SI Swimsuit set was released—and since then, fellow SI Swimsuit models and fans alike have welcomed Cunningham into the fold with open arms.”
