A viral photo gives a hint that Sophie Cunningham might be taken.
The WNBA star is in the midst of her belated 30th birthday celebration during the FIBA World Cup break, and several photos of her enjoying a day out on the water have surfaced. One in particular caught fans' eyes when she was one of her cozying up to a man while they enjoyed a day on a boat together.
In the photo, Cunningham is wearing a green and yellow bikini as she puts her arms around a guy who is shirtless, wearing red swim trunks and a black hat.

As for the man's identity, according to The Spun, he is Frank Adams, the head athletic trainer for the men’s basketball team at Grand Canyon University.
Like Cunningham, they have a connection with basketball and has worked in the majors for several years prior to his current role.
“Adams brings extensive professional basketball experience to GCU, having spent six years as an assistant athletic trainer with the Phoenix Suns. During his time in the NBA, he worked closely with players and performance staff to design and implement individualized care plans, manage daily treatments and support athlete health throughout long competitive seasons,” his bio for Grand Canyon states. “Prior to his time with the Suns, Adams served as the head athletic trainer for the Iowa Wolves, overseeing all aspects of sports medicine and player care for the G League organization.”
Noting that he used to work with the Phoenix Suns, it's possible that the two could have had a run-in when Cunningham was on the Phoenix Mercury roster. She played for her first six seasons in the league with the Mercury before being traded to the Indiana Fever in February 2025.
At this point, it is all speculation given that neither Cunningham nor Adams has confirmed a romantic connection between the two. Prior to the Adams dating rumors, she was in a relationship with Jakob Neidig from 2019 to 2020. The two were both student-athletes at the University of Missouri at the time.
