Sophie Cunningham, Lexie Hull enjoy viral California beach day before Fever's showdown with Sparks

The Indiana Fever made the most of a rare day off before returning to the court Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Veteran guards Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull shared a glimpse of that downtime, spending part of their off day relaxing together at Manhattan Beach. The teammates posted photos from the California coast, with Cunningham captioning the Instagram post, "much needed r&r," as the Fever prepared for the second stop of their West Coast road trip.

The beach outing quickly caught the attention of fans, but it also served as a reminder of the close bond between two players who have become key pieces of Indiana's roster both on and off the court.

Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull recharge before Sparks matchup

With a busy WNBA schedule leaving little time for rest, Cunningham and Hull took advantage of the opportunity to unwind before facing the Sparks in Los Angeles. The duo has become well known among Fever fans for their friendship, frequently appearing together on social media and during team events. Their latest California photos continued that trend, showing the pair enjoying the sunshine before shifting their focus back to basketball.

The timing couldn't be better for Indiana, which is looking to continue its climb in the WNBA standings as the regular season enters a critical stretch.

Cunningham enjoying one of the best seasons of her career

The beach day comes just one day after Cunningham received disappointing news when she was left off the WNBA All-Star roster despite putting together one of the strongest seasons of her career. Through 19 games, the veteran guard is averaging 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 49.1% from the field and an impressive 42.9% from three-point range.

After re-signing with Indiana during the offseason, Cunningham has flourished in a sixth-player role under head coach Stephanie White. Her energy, defense and outside shooting have made her one of the league's most productive reserves and a legitimate contender for the WNBA's Sixth Player of the Year award.

Hull has also carved out an important role, providing defensive versatility, hustle plays and reliable perimeter shooting whenever called upon.

Fever turn attention to Los Angeles

With the downtime behind them, Cunningham and Hull will now turn their attention to Wednesday night's matchup against the Sparks. Indiana will lean on its veteran depth alongside stars Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell as it looks to secure another important road victory.

The Fever have developed one of the WNBA's deepest rotations this season, and Cunningham and Hull have been central to that success. Whether they're making plays on the court or enjoying a well-earned day off together, the teammates continue to be among the franchise's most recognizable personalities. As Indiana continues its playoff push, the Fever will hope a little California sunshine translates into another strong performance when they tip off against the Sparks.
