Sophie Cunningham ditches one-pieces for tiny strap-as-bikini for rookie SI Swim turn

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham took to social media to share some of her favorite photos from her rookie tun in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

The stunning athlete rocked a series of monochrome one-pieces, before switching to the smallest bathing suit revealed by any model in the 2026 issue yet.

“Year 1 with @si_swimsuit 😮‍💨✨ AHHHH!,” she captioned the Tuesday, May 12 share to Instagram. The seven-image carousel post kicked off with a gorgeous photo of Cunningham lying in the sand in a taste black one-piece. Swipe right, and after five more monochrome looks appears  a sultry shot of the athlete in a bathing suit made entirely of one beaded strap that weaves around her chiseled athlete’s body in all the right places.

The final image shows the star in the skimpy white bikini used in the promo for the iconic 2026 issue of the magazine.

“Oh em geeeeeeee,” wrote her teammate Lexie Hull.

“I’ll never be able to convince my kids I was (ever) the cool sister 🙃,” quipped Cunningham’s sister Lindsey.

The Fever star’s fans went wild in the comments, too.

“Now they understand why she is the queen of the WNBA❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” wrote one.

“Ok out here breaking the internet and hearts,” said another.

Clark often leaves funny comments when Cunningham publishes bikini posts. Together with Hull, the three friends are affectionately called the “Tres Leches” by fans.
