Drake Maye figured he must've heard the question wrong.
There was no way this was what the New England Patriots' star QB had been asked in a press conference on Wednesday, was there?
"Are you thicker this season with two c's?" -- as in, the modern lingo, thiccer.
Maye replied, "Say that one more time."
So yes, the reporter repeated the question.
"That's 'pause' if that's anything," Maye replied.
He then tried to give a decent answer anyway, which was kind of Maye.
"That's not the way to put it," Maye said before a brief exchange with the reporter. "... It's how the NFL works, a long season, and you tend to lose some muscle, so you try to maintain that."
Wild: A reporter asked Drake Maye if he's "thicker" going into this season and his reaction was PRICELESS.
Reporter: "Are you thicker with two C’s?"
Maye: “Say that one more time?”
Reporter: "Are you thicker with two C’s?"
Maye: "That’s, pause if that’s anything."

It makes sense that Maye, heading into his third season, would want to continue getting stronger. He led the Patriots to the Super Bowl before a loss, and any growth in his game, and his physique, can only help.
The Pats' expectations will be much higher in 2026, and it'll be up to Maye to try to live up to them.
The only letter Maye will be concerning himself with: W.
