There can’t be a Snoop Dogg biopic without Dr. Dre. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures has cast Myles Bullock Be to play the role of Dre in the upcoming biographical film simply titled Snoop.

The 35-year-old previously starred in Starz’s BMF, Runaways, Criminal Minds and the 2023 reboot of White Men Can’t Jump. Bullock confirmed the news while reposting The Hollywood Reporter article to Instagram on Thursday (Aug. 20).

“LA Kid playing an LA Legend, @snoopdogg @jonathandavissofficial let’s get it! #mamaimadeit,” he wrote.

Bullock received plenty of love from fans and his BMF co-stars in his comment section. “This n—a don’t MISS,” actor Kris Lofton wrote.

Snoop is slated to hit theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 6, 2027. The biopic will feature Outer Banks star Jonathan Daviss as the West Coast rap legend. “There’ll be a lot of unexpected moments from this because I don’t think a lot of people know about Snoop Dogg’s story,” Daviss teased in an interview with THR on Tuesday.

Hustle & Flow‘s Craig Brewer will direct Snoop, while 8 Mile producer Brian Grazer is onboard to produce.

Snoop and Dre have become one of hip-hop’s most synonymous rapper-producer duos. Dre brought Snoop into the Death Row fold around 1992 when he was making his The Chronic debut. They’ve joined forces for decorated collaborations like “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as “The Next Episode” and “Still D.R.E.”

After his run at Death Row, Snoop Dogg joined No Limit Records in 1998. Master P told Billboard that his son, Hercy Miller, is currently vying to play his father in the biopic.

Universal Pictures also helmed the N.W.A’s biopic Straight Outta Compton, which received an Oscar nomination. LaKeith Stanfield played Snoop in the 2015 biopic, while Corey Hawkins took on the role of Dr. Dre.
