The 2025 MLB World Series turned out to be an all-time classic as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Toronto Blue Jays in a thrilling Game 7 on Saturday night.

The Dodgers, who trailed the Blue Jays for most of the game, were three outs away from being eliminated before Miguel Rojas' clutch home run in the ninth inning tied the game.

The Blue Jays had the chance to walk it off in the bottom of the frame as they had the bases loaded with Ernie Clement at the plate. However. Yoshinobu Yamamato. who relieved Blake Snell, escaped the jam after Andy Pages' solid defensive work in the outfield to send the game into extra innings.

Detroit Tigers ace and AL Cy Young contender for a second consecutive season, Tarik Skubal, reacted with a one-word message during the dramatic finish.

"Incredible," Skubal wrote.

The Tigers ace has been the subject of trade rumors this month after Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported gap contract extension talks with Detroit. Fans reacted to Skubal's post, speculating a move to the Dodgers.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto comes in clutch for Dodgers' World Series Game 7 triumph over Blue Jays

The Dodgers took the lead in the top of the 11th inning after Will Smith's solo home run off Blue Jays ace Shane Bieber. The hosts had two runners on base with one out as Alejandro Kirk faced off against Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

However, the Japanese ace held his nerve as Kirk's groundout was turned into a double play by Mookie Betts to close the innings and the game with the Dodgers clinching a thrilling 5-4 win in the World Series decider. Yamamoto was named the World Series MVP for his spectacular performance in the best-of-seven series.
