Sky’s Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso show they can thrive together in WNBA’s biggest frontcourt

The Chicago Sky have two of the best frontcourt players in the WNBA in Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, each entering their second season in the W.

The only dilemma the Sky faced last year was how to play them together.

But on Friday night, taking on the Brazilian National Team in an exhibition game, the duo showed a glimpse of why this pairing can work.

At one point, Reese pulled down a defensive rebound. Cardoso's 6-foot-7 long strides took off in front of the pack.

Reese dribbled the ball up floor herself, sparking the break.

Then, she spotted Cardoso having established interior position thanks to her sprint down the floor. Reese tossed the ball in, a precise feed, and Cardoso finished.

It's not always easy in modern basketball's 3-point landscape to play two non-shooting bigs together.

The Sky have to find a way, though, because Reese and Cardoso are simply too good.

Taking advantage of Reese's ball-handling skills looks to be a major component of the whole thing.

The other advantage is defensively, where having both on the floor defends the rim and protects the defensive glass.

Reese and Cardoso are two of the league's most popular players, too. It's important for the WNBA to have them on the floor together, and it looks like they're ready to answer that call.
