Skip Bayless didn't waste any time getting to a ludicrous Luka Doncic take

1 hour ago 2

Skip Bayless is having a reunion with Stephen A. Smith on Friday as the old First Take buddies are back at it for one day only.

And after Bayless decided to tell the world that he thinks LeBron James is the ninth-best player of all time, he was far from done. He also had a ludicrous take about the Los Angeles Lakers and Luka Doncic.

The Lakers haven't had Doncic in this postseason as he recovers from injury. They got past the Houston Rockets in the first round but now trail 2-0 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in round two.

Bayless thinks they're actually better off without Doncic.

“The Lakers are a better, both ends of the floor, basketball team without Luka," Bayless told Smith.

Come on, man.

There's no way he thinks this is actually true unless he's best friends with former Mavericks GM Nico Harrison.

The Lakers' best chance of upsetting the Thunder would be with Doncic healthy and playing. Sure, they'd still be an underdog with Luka, but without him, they've got no chance.

Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA, and to suggest that somehow offensively the Lakers are better off without him is a wild take.

But hey, that's just what these guys do, and back together again, Bayless and Smith aren't holding back on the ridiculous ideas.
