Simone Biles reacts to fan wanting details about recent health scare

Simone Biles needs a minute before she is ready to talk about her near-death health scare.

“Not ready to talk about it just yet,” Biles wrote via Instagram after a fan shared that they “never got the update on [her] near-death experience.”

On June 6, the seven-time Olympic medalist shared that she had a near-death experience after sharing a photo that had three hospital wristbands on her arm.

“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age. But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card this week,” Biles wrote via her Instagram Story at the time.

To add to her traumatic experience, her husband, Jonathan Owens, was not there to comfort her since he was in Indianapolis for practice. He currently plays for the Indianapolis Colts after signing with them in March 2026, following two seasons with the Chicago Bears.

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life, especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices,” Biles wrote. “I’ve been in bed resting this week. I’ll explain sooner or later, but [shoutout] to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers.”

This is not the first time that Biles had to address fans for being in her personal space. The Olympian was in Madrid back in April for the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards, where fans were outside of her hotel. She addressed the issue with fans and expressed how she wants her privacy.

“okay, I reallllly love how passionate and dedicated y’all are, BUT I have to be honest. It really makes me anxious when you stand outside of the hotel all day. Can we please please please love from afar,” Biles wrote at the time on her Instagram Story per People.

She did, however, show appreciation to her fans and continued, “I would love to take pics while I’m out & about though.”
