A local business owner is headed to trial next month following allegations that he raped a young child, used threats of deportation to keep her silent, and sexually molested two of his own nieces.
Jesus Rosales Morales, the owner of Golden State Tree Service, is scheduled for a trial setting conference on August 13, 2026, with the trial expected to begin later in the month, according to San Luis Obispo County court records.
Morales faces one count of forcible rape and two counts of committing lewd acts upon a child. If convicted, a sentencing enhancement based on multiple victims carries a minimum penalty of 15 years to life in prison.

Morales visited his brother’s home and asked if his young niece could spend the night at his house. The victim did not disclose what happened that night to her family for over a decade, CalCoastNews reported.
Morales’ sister-in-law sat down with her children to discuss unrelated legal issues surrounding the uncle, which led to this coming to light. At that point, the woman’s now 20-year-old daughter revealed that Morales had assaulted her years prior, stating he did it “differently to me.”

The victim explained that she remained silent because Morales threatened that she “would never see her father again.” The victim’s mother told reporters that Morales said he would have the victim’s father, a legal immigrant at the time, deported.
After learning of the allegation, the victim’s mother called her husband at work and asked him to come home. According to the family, he suffered a heart attack before leaving work and later experienced a stroke that resulted in permanent vision impairment. The mother and daughter subsequently reported the alleged 2010 assault to law enforcement, leading to the filing of the felony rape charge.
In addition to the rape charge, Morales is accused of sexually abusing two other nieces from different branches of his extended family.
Court documents show that in 2024, a niece came forward to report that Morales had fondled her in 2017 when she was 14 years old or younger. Shortly after that report, a second niece alleged that Morales committed lewd acts and forced her to kiss him at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles in July 2021. She was 14 or 15 years old at the time of the alleged abuse.
All three victims are now adults attending college.
