The Dodgers had only captured their second consecutive World Series title less than 48 hours earlier, but superstar Shohei Ohtani is already thinking about winning a third.
Ohtani was taking part in the Dodgers’ championship parade in Hollywood on Monday when he was interviewed by Spectrum SportsNet LA.
Shohei Ohtani waves during the World Series championship parade, with blue and white confetti falling around him. Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn ImagesHe was asked if winning World Series championships was the “new norm” after Los Angeles had won back-to-back titles.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this,” Ohtani replied through an interpreter.
The Dodgers superstar seemed right at home during the championship parade and was even joined by his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, and his dog decoy, who had been with him at the celebration in 2024 as well.
“It’s really nice to be able to win the game and to be surrounded by all these amazing fans,” Ohtani said, per the Associated Press. “I’m really taking it in and enjoying it.” He also briefly addressed Dodgers fans in English, as he did last year, during a celebration at the stadium

The Dodgers captured their second straight championship in a Game 7 for the ages, which drew a massive TV audience that saw Los Angeles rally from a 4-2 deficit to win 5-4 in 11 innings
The World Series also marked the final moment of Clayton Kershaw’s career, who announced in September that he would be retiring after the 2025 season.
“It’s the perfect way to be done,” Kershaw said after the game. “I know the Dodgers have always meant a lot to this city for generations. For us to get to do this in front of them, it means the world to me and all the rest of the guys.”
