The Boston Celtics were dealing with more than just one serious injury during the playoffs.
Jayson Tatum tragically ruptured his Achilles in Game 4 versus the New York Knicks, but new reports indicate that Tatum's superstar running mate in Boston, Jaylen Brown, was also dealing with a significant injury during the playoffs.
ESPN's Ramona Shelburne revealed on Saturday night that Brown has been diagnosed with a partially torn meniscus, meaning that the 28-year-old former NBA Finals MVP was battling with a severely injured knee during the Knicks series, and possibly earlier than that.
"Celtics forward Jaylen Brown wasn’t just playing through pain during the playoffs, he finished the season with a partial meniscus tear, sources told ESPN," Shelburne posted to X.
"He’ll be evaluated this week to determine whether surgery is necessary."
