Shirtless photos of Travis Kelce spark debate over his body hair — internet divided

Travis Kelce has been putting in the work ever since his team’s devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

While fans are thrilled that the Kansas City Chiefs star is returning next season, the internet seems more focused — and divided — over something else entirely.

On Monday, May 20, celebrity gossip account Deux Moi posted shirtless photos of Kelce. While some followers commented on his physical transformation, others couldn’t help but fixate on one detail, his body hair.

Kelce was reportedly working out in Florida with close friends Ross Travis and Kumar Ferguson. In the photos, the football star stands in front of a black SUV, taking off his shirt to wipe away sweat.

“Like no shade but it looks like Taylor tried to wax his back and failed halfway,” one user joked under the Instagram post. Another added, “His back was not this hairy during the Bahamas trip lol.”

While some followers weren’t fans of his back hair, others quickly jumped to his defense. “Everyone commenting better check their chin for that one long, untamed hair that keeps growing back. 💅 Hair is natural, my dudes.”

Another user called out the criticism altogether, writing, “He has three Super Bowl rings, the hottest celebrity girlfriend, a $100 million net worth, and the most listened-to sports podcast. I think his critics need to go sit down and figure their lives out 😭”

The 35-year-old appears to be training hard for a comeback in the 2025–26 NFL season. Fans of Kelce were kept on their toes as retirement speculation grew after the Super Bowl. 

In February 2025, Pat McAfee revealed Kelce’s decision during an episode of The Pat McAfee Show. Reading a text message from Kelce on air, he confirmed what many had been hoping to hear.

“My dawg!!! I’m coming back for sure,” the message read. “I’m gonna try to get into the best shape I’ve ever been in this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle.”
