Shilo Sanders reveals surprise role for Buccaneers as he tries to avoid being cut

6 hours ago 1

Shilo Sanders is doing whatever he can to make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The former Colorado defensive back standout is a part of the Bucs' offseason plans after signing there as an undrafted free agent.

There's plenty Shilo hopes to show Tampa Bay's leadership group on the field. But it's away from the field where Shilo has shone brightest so far.

This is how Shilo describes his role on the team:

"I'm going to be the snack guy, so we just going to get a wholesale," Shilo told ESPN. "I'm going to have everything everybody needs. The meetings are really long, so I understand.. I might have a little spreadsheet with everybody's favorite stuff on there. You know what I'm saying? I have to bring my own [snacks]. I got to make sure that the vets are good. You know what I'm saying? Because they really been helping me and teaching me a lot of stuff. I'm really grateful for that. So that's the least I can do."

Honestly a very smart move by Shilo.

Ingratiate yourself to the coaching staff in a respectful way. Make the veterans appreciate you.

If his play on the field at all resembles some of this unexpected off-field kindness, Shilo has a great shot to stick around in the NFL as a safety for the Bucs.
