Shedeur Sanders Trade Rumors: Browns' asking price revealed ahead of deadline by franchise legend

With just a few hours left before Tuesday's trade deadline, there is still an air of uncertainty regarding Shedeur Sanders' future with the Cleveland Browns. The rookie quarterback is yet to make his official debut for the team as he serves as the backup to QB1 Dillon Gabriel on the depth chart.

While the rumor mill churns about a potential trade for Coach Prime's son, ex-Browns star Joshua Cribbs shared his perspective on Shedeur's trade value. On last Thursday's episode of the "Top Dawgs" show, the retired three-time Pro Bowler revealed what the Browns would ask if they decide to part ways with the rookie.

"Shedeur Sanders has too much value at this pick for us not to get him," Cribbs said. "Because they can trade him. There's teams right now that probably want- the Jets- they want a Shedeur Sanders."

"And they're gonna have to give up, the rumors I believe are absolutely true, they'll have to give up a second rounder for him, and nothing less. And if he plays in this terrible offense right now that they're showing, his value will go down."

The Browns drafted Shedeur with the 144th overall pick in this year's draft. Despite getting some playing time during the preseason, he is waiting for his chance to be the team's QB1.

Kevin Stefanski's offense has been far from impressive this season. After starting the season under veteran Joe Flacco, they replaced him with Dillon Gabriel after a 1-3 start before trading him to the Bengals on Oct. 7.

Unfortunately, the team's on-field issues did not improve with the rookie quarterback at the helm. Following Sunday's 32-13 loss to the Patriots, the Browns now have a 2-6 record.

Browns insider Tony Grossi shares his stance on the possibility of Shedeur Sanders starting in Week 10

On Monday's episode of "The Tony Rizzo Show", the Browns insider said that Shedur Sanders has the possibility of taking over as the starting quarterback in Week 10. This was after coach Kevin Stefanski shut down the chances of replacing Dillon Gabriel as the QB1.

"Is Dillon Gabriel a starting quarterback?" Rizzo questioned. "I think so, but I'm not sure," Grossi responded. "Well, regardless of what Kevin said repeteadly, it depends on what the committee decides, and we'll find out the result today. ... It's possible (that Shedeur Sanders starts for the Browns). I wouldn't rule it out until I hear today."

The Browns are scheduled to take on the Jets next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
