On Monday, it was announced that Shedeur Sanders will replace the New England Patriots' quarterback and MVP, Drake Maye, after the Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl last week.
Of course, based on how the season went for Sanders, many fans around the league may have been scratching their heads at Sanders being selected as the replacement.
Sanders showed flashes of being an elite quarterback in the future, throwing for three touchdowns and 364 yards against the Tennessee Titans, but also had many games where he turned the ball over with preventable interceptions.

The topic of Sanders was discussed on the 'Wake Up Barstool' show on Tuesday, and Eddie Barstool expressed his unhappiness with the choice by stating, "If this isn't an indictment on the Pro Bowl, I don't know what is."
This is not a wild statement; the Pro Bowl has been criticized in previous seasons, with its importance to the sport questioned, and the league has also changed its format to a series of games to make the event more entertaining.
On that 'X' post from Barstool, the comment section voiced its opinion on the matter, with one fan commenting, "The Pro-Bowl is more about names than seasons at this point," and many others accusing the NFL of only allowing Sanders to compete in the games in a way to reach a larger audience.
Sanders finished the season with 1,400 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions through 8 games and will participate in the game representing the AFC quarterbacks, along with Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.
