Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders recently had a run-in with the law after he was pulled over for speeding.
Sanders was cited for an alleged speeding violation earlier this week. Police records show that Sanders was going 101 miles per hour when he was pulled over. That was 41 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Sanders now has the option to pay the fine or fight the ticket in court. The team has not commented on the situation.
Following that incident, FOX Sports' Colin Cowherd revealed that he's out on Sanders after his blunder on the road.
"When you fall to 144 in the draft and then try to match that number behind the wheel of a car... yeah, I don't think the same," Cowherd said. "I'm not as high on him. I'm not sure he's mature enough."
Cowherd is referencing the fact that Sanders, who was widely projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, fell all the way to the fifth round before Cleveland halted his slide with the No. 144 overall pick.
This is just a silly take from Cowherd, although we shouldn't be surprised. He is well-known for having some of the worst takes in sports, and most of those are likely just to rile people up.
This is just one mistake Sanders has made off the field.
Was it terrible judgement? Absolutely, but we can't write someone off because of a speeding ticket. Furthermore, it has no bearing on his NFL career.
