It took more than 100 picks too long, but at No. 144 overall on Saturday, he joined the Browns.

His jersey will soon by flying off shelves as the Dawg Pound fan base rallies to support their new quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders wears the No. 2.

He wore it at both Jackson State and at Colorado.

Why does Shedeur Sanders wear No. 2?

Shedeur Sanders wears No. 2 for a couple of reasons.

The main inspiration is his father and college coach, Deion Sanders.

Deion wore the No. 2 at Florida State.

Sanders also has a name with alliteration, the double-S initials. 

And his brand is called 2Legendary, which features a logo of a dollar sign to the power of two.

Browns' No. 2 jersey history

The longest-tenured Browns player to wear No. 2 is a concerning one.

It was Tim Couch, the No. 1 overall pick in 1999 who started this string of Cleveland quarterback woes and played for the Browns through 2003.

Johnny Manziel also wore No. 2 for the Browns in 2014 and 2015 en route to being a draft bust.
