An ex-University of Colorado quarterback is making headlines again, and this time, it isn't Shedeur Sanders, but his backup.
Ryan Staub, who previously served as Sanders’ backup at Colorado, is now at Tennessee and competing for a role. However, it isn't his new role that has some questioning things, as it was how he described the difference in coaching at Tennessee compared to Colorado.
While speaking to reporters, Staub said what many viewed as a shot at the coaching he received during his time at Colorado.
“In my three years of playing college football, I haven't had as much coaching as I've had in the first month that I've been here,” Staub said. “It's a lot of special coaching. I haven't been coached this much. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and improve.”
The comment didn’t directly call anyone out, but it's obvious what he was getting at. Staub’s praise for Tennessee isn't a bad thing, but there was a clear shot at Deion Sanders and the staff he built at Colorado.
