Sheamus posted a social media update to honor his friendship with a popular WWE star. The two knew each other even before they joined the Stamford-based promotion.
The name in question is former WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. The two European stars shared the ring several times on the independent circuit long before crossing paths in World Wrestling Entertainment.
Earlier today, Wade Barrett took to Instagram to post a picture with The Celtic Warrior wearing English football club Preston North End's jersey. In the caption, the WWE commentator teased the Irishman, who is well known to be a Liverpool fan. The Great White shared the post on Instagram stories, acknowledging the banter and his 20-year friendship with Wade Barrett.

Sheamus cleared the air about his potential retirement while speaking on a recent edition of WWE Recap.
The 47-year-old noted that he still had great intensity. The veteran added that he felt like he was just getting started. The former WWE Champion claimed that he would retire from professional wrestling the day he did not put his best inside the squared circle.
"I think it's the intensity that's something that I've always leaned into, and that's really what sets me apart. I feel like that's why I'm still in the game. You know, people talk about John Cena retiring, and I think he's like a year older than me, and I feel like I'm just getting started. Last week, I was in there with JD [McDonagh], man, and just ripping it up… The day I don't go out there and give 100% or give it everything that I possibly have every single match—I don't care if it's RAW, SmackDown, NXT, or if it's Main Event that they tape before the show—I won't go out there and not give everything I have in every single match, and especially with my neck," he said.Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in his first-round match of the Last Time is Now tournament earlier this week on Monday Night RAW. With John Cena having won the Intercontinental Championship, The Celtic Warrior would now be even more focused on winning the tournament and challenging The Cenation Leader for the title he has never won.
