My boyfriend and I brought this little girl home last week, and according to the shelter, she is 4 y/o. But she is very small, about the size of an 8 - 9 m/o kitten and

  • 04

only about 8 lbs. That is not the "problem", though I wonder if the shelter had the right age. That's a different thing though.

  • 05

From the moment we brought her home, she was not scared or shy; she was in fact, incredibly clingy. Like, immediately slept on both of our chests and hasn't let either of us out of her sight when we're

  • 06

home amounts of clingy. Additionally, she ALWAYS is 'talking'. Very rarely is she not meowing at us in some form, and sometimes she will do it in her sleep.

She likes to have her face in my face in particular, and no amount of petting makes the cuddling and talking stop. She wakes me up at all hours of the night, meowing

and putting her face in mine, and it's only through the afternoon that she sleeps. She is always purring either way, though.

I've had cats for the better part of a decade and never had one like this. I'm starting to worry that maybe she's in pain? It would appear that the shelter spayed her

  • 12

recently, but there's no signs of infection. She eats happily, drinks plenty of water, and has plenty of energy to play.

  • 13

Is there something wrong with my cat or is she just uniquely chatty?

  • 14

ImpossiblePlan65 Some cats are love bugs, and you've got one. She might have some abandonment issues, too.

Jdiggedy Steak too juicy, lobster too buttery.

  • This is kind of the dream for a lot of cat parents. A cat that wants to cuddle nonstop, follows you around, talks to you all day, and insists on being close. Plenty of people spend years trying to win over a cat for half this affection. It may be a lot, but it sounds like you ended up with a little lovebug who just wants to be involved in everything. That's a pretty good problem to have.

give her all the love, cuddles any time she wants, buy her a few new toys, and give her some treats

One_Resolution_83... Congratulations, you just got a velcro kitty ! Very rare and totally unforgettable. Nothing is wrong with her. Remember that she comes from a shelter and possibly lacked human affection in her short life. Well, she found her human and wants to be your soul cat. Enjoy!

Cocobean4 She sounds like my childhood cat. She would spend all day on my shoulder and cuddle in my arms all night when I went to bed. You've been blessed.

sourcematerialx She's an adorable little one isn't she? I think she's fine, just living her unique personality and her best life.

  • She may just be a little quirky. Some cats are quiet, some are clingy, some never stop talking. Sounds like Aioli landed in that third category and maybe all three. Every cat has its own odd little habits, and this may just be hers. Being extra vocal, extra cuddly, and a little unusual does not have to mean something is wrong. It may just mean she is a funny little cat with a big personality.

Ok_Hat_6598 In my experience cats who are in pain usually hide. Sounds like she's extremely loving and wants to make sure that you won't leave her.

    Robinfrack1 She loves you

  • 22

Roseheath22 It just sounds like you have a sweet and affectionate cat.

  • 23

Few-Flow-3818 She has the sweetest little face

  • 24

The MythicalCodfish You just have a clingy, chatty girl. Embrace it.

  • 25

Catwearingtrousers She's thanking you for bringing her home.

  • She may just be happy to be home and making sure everyone knows it. Some cats show comfort by hiding less, Aioli seems to show it by going all in. The constant cuddling, purring, and talking could just be her way of soaking up finally having a safe place and people of her own. It almost reads less like something is wrong and more like a cat very enthusiastically settling into being loved.

dissidentmage12 Sounds like she's excited to be loved and to love you. She will probably calm down after a while, but not too much. She's outgoing a loving and you've shown her a home and a heart.
