Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson disclosed Breanna Stewart as her toughest opposition in the WNBA on Thursday. Discussing the three-time WNBA champion, Wilson revealed what makes Stewart her toughest cover despite enjoying their defensive battles.

During an appearance on the 'Not Gonna Lie' podcast with Kylie Kelce, Wilson was questioned about who she thought was the toughest player to defend. After a quick thought, the reigning MVP revealed it was Liberty star Breanna Stewart.

"Um, I'm going to always say Breana Stewart. I'm always gonna say Stewie. Only because Stewie's just she's a three-level scorer," Wilson expressed (Timestamp: 35:47 onwards). "The way that she plays the game is so tough to read."

Continuing to speak on her defensive battles with the Liberty forward, Wilson revealed what made Stewart a formidable opponent.

"Sometimes when I'm thinking about how to guard her and make things tough, you usually say, “Okay, force them to their weak hand and you can live with it.” But Stewie is completely different," Wilson continued. "But I love it. I love competing against Stewie because every time we face each other, it feels like a blockbuster — it’s elite basketball. She makes me think on every possession ... When you’re guarding Stewie, you have to stay alert at all times. She’s very guard-like, but she’s also tall, so you get the best of both worlds." (Timestamp: 36:02 onwards)

A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart have gone head-to-head for years, their careers often mirroring each other. Both stars have won three WNBA titles, made seven All-Star appearances and collected two WNBA Finals MVPs.

But in recent seasons, Wilson has pulled ahead, winning back-to-back league MVPs and bringing her total to four, doubling Stewart’s two.

A’ja Wilson reveals the one opponent she spends the most time "game-planning" for

A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces were the team to beat in the latter half of the WNBA season, as they went on to win the WNBA crown.

After ripping off 16 straight wins in the second half of the season, they topped nearly every opponent, though Wilson admitted there’s one team she spends the most time “game-planning” for.

"I would say we always do a lot of game planning for the Seattle Storm. That’s a team we’re always pretty even with, and it feels like we’re always going to see them in the playoffs," Wilson expressed (Timestamp: 37:10 onwards).

Wilson’s reasoning is justified, as the Seattle Storm were the team that snapped the Aces’ winning streak in the playoffs. Even so, Wilson and the Aces bounced back to beat them in four games.
