Annika Sorenstam opened up about Caitlin Clark playing at The Annika. The WNBA star competed in the pro-am event of the LPGA Tour tournament, which was held on Wednesday, Nov. 12. It was her second back-to-back appearance at the event.

Following the conclusion of The Annika on Sunday, Sorenstam talked about Clark's impact and said that she brings "extra buzz" to the game. Sorenstam said (via ASAP Sports):

"I think what we have seen is when somebody like Caitlin Clark comes here there is an extra buzz. She brings more people into this event, more people watch. Pro-am was on TV or Golf Channel. I don't think you could do that before. "Just a lot of effects with that. When you look at media numbers for this week in general I think we're all going to be extremely happy and excited, because I think I know they have doubles and tripled some of the numbers they're tracking whether it's tickets or just expressions, et cetera," she added.

Caitlin Clark is an avid golfer and enjoys playing the game whenever she can. She played at the Annika pro-am last year in a group with Nelly Korda.

This year, she partnered in a group with amateur golfers Jordan Jackson and Dan Towriss. Korda played with her on the front nine, while on the back, Lauren Nguyen competed. The group settled in a T39 position, carding a score of 59.

Caitlin Clark shared a heartfelt video of her at the Annika outing. She shared the video on Saturday on her Instagram handle with a sweet caption in which she thanked Annika Sorenstam for inviting her to the event.

"Had a blast running it back for year 2. ⛳ Thanks @annikas59 and @dantowriss for having me again. @gainbridgesport @gainbridgelife" she wrote.

Caitlin Clark talked about her appearance at the Annika after her pro-am event on Wednesday. She said:

"I think it's warming up first nine holes, but it's always cool to be out here. I think the event and Gainbridge does a great job, and it was fun to play with Nelly and Lauren. So any time you get to be out in the sun and in Florida and in front of really cool fans, it makes for a great day."

The main event started on Thursday, featuring a stellar field of professional golfers such as Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, Linn Grant, and others. After four rounds, Grant won the event, registering a three-stroke win over Jennifer Kupcho.

Last week, Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai Trump, also made the headlines for her appearance at the Annika. She received a sponsor exemption to play in the event, but she struggled and failed to make the cut after 36 holes.
