Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has long been campaigning for a UFC White House showdown against Jon Jones. However, 'Poatan's' recent update regarding his dream fight has prompted fans to go scorched earth on the promotion.
According to Pereira's update, he will not be fighting on the historic card celebrating America's 250th anniversary of independence. In a post on Instagram, he shared a picture of himself with Dana White, writing:
"Looks like the White House is a NO GO!!!"Check out Alex Pereira's UFC White House update below:

Suffice it to say, fight fans are deeply disappointed by the update and have launched an all-out crusade against White and the UFC on social media.

"Wasn’t this meant to be the biggest and best fight card ever? If you don’t have the biggest star currently on the card, it's gonna struggle."@viKINGof420 chimed in:
"They must be planning on Jon vs. Francis [Ngannou]. That’s the only thing that makes sense. Pereira is probably the biggest star in MMA right now."@yahiawaleed1 lashed out:
"No Alex or Islam [Makhachev] or Ilia [Topuria]. Who tf gonna watch Coke Gregor, that's even if he comes back."Check out a few more responses below:

Both Pereira and Jones have, on multiple occasions, named UFC White House as the ideal setting for their showdown, with 'Bones' even agreeing to concede the main event spot to make the fight a reality.
However, after Jones chose retirement over a previously agreed-upon heavyweight title unification bout with Tom Aspinall, Dana White doesn't seem ready to risk putting the fighter on a card of such significance.
UFC icon explains what is "admirable" about Alex Pereira calling out Jon Jones
Many believe Alex Pereira would struggle against Jon Jones. However, UFC legend Chael Sonnen views Pereira calling for a heavyweight showdown against Jones as admirable.
During a segment on his YouTube channel, the former three-time UFC title challenger deemed 'Poatan's' callout fitting of a true competitor. Elaborating on the topic, Sonnen said:
"Why does Alex Pereira want to fight Jon Jones? Don't tell me money, Pereira is rich. There is no title. It is largely which is so admirable about Pereira's callout. It's not about the money, it's not about the title... A legit competitor behind the fame and the money and the cameras wants to know, 'Am I better than you, or you better than me?'"Why did you not like this content?
