Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is posting insane scoring statlines at home and on the road.
Last year's NBA MVP is excelling on the road, shooting 46.2% from three-point range, 13.7% higher than his long-range mark when playing in Oklahoma City.
That contributed to a scoring record that hadn't been broken in 63 years. In yesterday's game against the Mavericks in Dallas, SGA scored 30 points, falling just 1.8 points below his season's average.
According to ESPN Insights, it was the four-time All-Star's 59th consecutive road game with 20 or more points, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain's record (1961-63) for the longest streak in NBA history.
SGA looks recovered from injury
Before Friday's overtime win against the Denver Nuggets, Gilgeous-Alexander missed the Thunder's previous nine games with an abdominal strain. He picked up right where he left off, totaling 36 points on 12-29 shooting from the field.
After breaking Chamberlain's road-scoring record, he has a strong opportunity to extend that number so far that no other player in NBA history comes close to it.
The last time Gilgeous-Alexander failed to score 20 points in a regular-season game was October 30, 2024. A model of consistency.
