Baseball fans have been treated to an exciting offseason. There have been headline-inducing signings and trades that are sure to shake up the landscape of the 2026 MLB season.

However, there are still a few high-profile names waiting for their new contract. Names like Framber Valdez, Eugenio Suarez, Luis Arraez, and others still have undecided futures.

But, with Spring Training right around the corner, expect plenty of these players to sign soon. They don't want to put themselves too far behind the others, who will report to camp the day their team is scheduled to.

Several clubs eyeing former Gold Glove Award winning backstop

While many fans are worried about the top names still left on the open market, smaller-named players can still provide tons of damage, both defensively and offensively, if put in the right system.

Jonah Heim is not on the same level as Framber Valdez, but he could be a great addition for a team looking to improve their backstop depth.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter suggests multiple teams could be viewed as great fits for Heim.

"Now that Realmuto and Caratini have finally signed, Heim and Elias Diaz represent the best available catchers. Heim's 68 home runs over the last five years rank 10th among all catchers, and he does a good job handling the pitching staff. The Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, and Boston Red Sox are all potential fits."

Now that the two top free agent options have signed, the catching market should start moving. The former Gold Glove Award winner represents one of the best catchers available and could be a great fit for the Astros, Padres, Rays, or Red Sox.

You also should keep an eye on the Pittsburgh Pirates. They need offense, and Heim's veteran presence could help them push for a postseason spot.
