Selfish Dems need to fix the unsafe, long airport lines and fund the TSA

Every one of the tens of thousands of Americans stuck in endless security lines at airports should know who to blame: Democrats in Congress who think your suffering is a small price to pay for showing their elite donors that they’re “doing something” about ICE.

Not that this insanity actually impacts immigration enforcement: Dems refuse to fund Homeland Security, but ICE and the Border Patrol still have plenty of cash thanks to billions authorized last year.

Doesn’t matter: Big-money leftists want someone to suffer — and stopping paychecks for TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA and a few other agencies is the best that Democrats can manage.

So these workers — already shafted by Dems’ larger government shutdown last year — get reamed.

Some pull sickouts; some just quit — and the security lines get longer and longer, right as Spring Break kicks into high gear and Easter school breaks approach.

Agents haven’t been paid for 35 days; their big troubles paying the bills are only beginning.

So the lines will be getting worse — and some smaller airports will have to shut down entirely soon.

Not to mention the other big issue: Homeland Security being crippled while the nation’s at war with a country that’s been sponsoring global terrorism for the last half-century.

All this, thanks to a party that claims to stand for the little guy — but in fact answers to a woke donor class and the campus progressives who set today’s Democratic agenda.

Only a handful of Senate Democrats need to wake up to reality and buck Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to stop this madness; it’s inevitable that the impasse will end without the party achieving a thing except appeasing its donors.

At this point, every Dem in Congress knows this, yet nearly all are still afraid to do the right thing.

That’s how far the party of Andrew Jackon, FDR and JFK has fallen: It’d be pathetic if it weren’t so outrageous.
