Self-described ‘intuitive healer’ makes chilling admission after fatally stabbing his mom in gated Florida neighborhood: cops

A self-described “intuitive healer” allegedly stabbed his elderly mom to death in a gated Florida neighborhood — and made a chilling admission of the heinous crime to police.

Alexander Harrington, 50, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder for fatally stabbing his 77-year-old mom, Susan Baratto, in the gated Monterey Lake community in Delray Beach earlier this month, CBS12 reported.

Harrington allegedly called Boca Raton’s non-emergency dispatch center on the afternoon of Sept. 11, identifying himself and saying he killed his mom, according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet.

The call was transferred to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, where Harrington also allegedly told dispatchers that he murdered his mother with a knife.

Cops rushed to the home and found Baratto covered in blood with multiple stab wounds. A knife was also found near her body, the affidavit said.

When paramedics treated Harrington, who had a cut to his left arm, he allegedly told them, “I killed my mom,” the document revealed.

Harrington later gave a statement at the sheriff’s office headquarters, stating he didn’t recognize his voice from his initial calls to the police.

He also said again that he killed his mother, but couldn’t recall what type of knife he used.

Harrington also kept alternating between identifying himself and saying he didn’t recognize himself as a shirtless man seen in a video pacing on a sidewalk near the Delray Beach home.

The alleged killer told detectives he had been sober since 2007 and said he had schizoaffective disorder with bipolar features.

In a bizarre Facebook video of himself just a day before he knifed Baratto, Harrington spoke about forgiveness.

“I wrote down everyone that ever hurt me, and I forgave them all,” Harrington said. “You have to open your heart to forgive. You can’t just say ‘I’m a forgiving person,’ because that does nothing, you have to bring in the emotions up.”

A motive in the killing is not immediately clear.

Harrington was ordered held without bond. His next court date is slated for Oct. 11.
