Seahawks would add elite speed to replace Kenneth Walker in offense in trade proposal

After losing Kenneth Walker in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have some questions to answer at the running back position. Not that the Seahawks are in a bad spot at running back, but there's certainly a need for more talent.

Thomas Carelli of SI believes he found the perfect target for the Seahawks, and it's tough to argue against. He proposed a trade that would land them Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane.

“Jeff Hafley has taken over in Miami, and he has new plans for this team. Achane is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and logically, he is much more likely to leave Miami after this season.

"Very well, Achane could stay, but the odds are stacked against it, given the deal he will demand. Bobby Slowik is the new offensive coordinator, and in his West Coast scheme, Achane actually does fit in quite well. Ultimately, the Dolphins' long-term goals do not align with Achane being their guy. Hafley shall wish to stack draft picks and get 'his guys' on the roster for years to come. With Achane on the way out, the Dolphins will make a trade to get two solid draft picks in return. Fans may be disgusted at the returns here, but leverage is leverage, and the Dolphins lack a ton of it.”

Achane is absolutely incredible, and there's a good argument to be made that he's better than Walker. However, he's also a completely different player than Walker, so if Seahawks fans are hoping to find somebody who can replace what he did, things would look a tad different.

The trade proposal would also send a 2026 second-round pick and possibly a 2027 third-round pick if he meets certain stats.
